Riflessi

L'Aquila (AQ)

The twelfth edition of the festival "Il jazz italiano per le terre del sisma" returns to L'Aquila on September 5 and 6, 2026, in the special year when the city is the Italian Capital of Culture. The theme chosen by artistic directors Maria Pia De Vito, Paola Martini, and Nicola Pisani is "Riflessi": jazz interprets the fragilities and memories of the places affected by the earthquake as creative energy, becoming the soundtrack of reconstruction and collective rebirth. The program, built around many original productions and projects specifically designed for the city, confirms the festival not only as a showcase of Italian jazz but as a place of artistic creation. The concerts will animate various spaces in the historic center, including the Scalinata di San Bernardino, the Parco del Castello, the Teatro San Filippo, the MAXXI L'Aquila, and some historic courtyards. Among the symbolic moments of the event, the Sunday morning appointment at the Parco della Memoria is renewed, the place where the festival each year strengthens its bond with the city and with the history of the communities affected by the 2009 earthquake.
