The forecourt of the Liceo Classico Vittorio Emanuele II in Lanciano, on Via del Mare, will host on Thursday 5 November 2026 at 11:00 the commemoration of the students who fell in the two world wars and of the headmaster Francesco Milano. The initiative is organised by the Associazione Nazionale Combattenti e Reduci, Lanciano section, with the involvement of the school and the municipality. The central moment is the laying of a laurel wreath at the foot of the memorial plaque bearing the names of the boys who fell in battle. The plaque was commissioned in 1922 by headmaster Milano himself in memory of the twenty-seven students who died in the First World War, to whom another eighteen were added in the Second.
