Returning for the whole summer is "Castelbasso 2026, Borgo della Cultura", the festival promoted by the Fondazione Malvina Menegaz that for over twenty years has transformed the Abruzzo village into a hub of contemporary art, music and theatre. The heart of this edition is the fourth stage of the "Progetto Genesi", with thirty works from the collection of the Associazione Genesi exhibited at Palazzo De Sanctis and Palazzo Clemente. Around the exhibition, a packed calendar of concerts and performances unfolds in the village squares. The event attracts visitors, enthusiasts and artists from all over Italy every year, confirming itself as a key appointment of the Abruzzo summer.
Traffic and parking restrictions in the locality of Castelbasso for the entire duration of the event (from 25 July to 30 August 2026). On Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 6:30 PM, "Cummar a fiure", a site-specific installation by artist Alice Minervini curated by Andrea Croce and MariaTeresa Daniele, opens on the Terrazza Belvedere in Cellino Attanasio (TE). The work is part of the seventh edition of "Una Boccata d'Arte", a widespread project that brings twenty contemporary art interventions to as many Italian villages. The installation is inspired by the ancient Abruzzo tradition of "Commare a fiore", celebrated during the summer solstice, and will be open to visitors until October 4, 2026.
